I'm a versatile and experienced writer-editor who's written for newspapers, magazines, and major corporations including IBM, Yahoo, Computer Sciences Corporation, and the San Diego Union-Tribune. Two features articles that I wrote for the Union-Tribune won 2016 Excellence in Journalism Awards from the San Diego Press Club.
I've been published in magazines ranging from Esquire and Outside to regional sports and lifestyle publications. I've done profiles on celebrities such as Muhammad Ali, Walter Cronkite, Bruce Jenner, and Howie Long, and inspiring people like astronauts, single-handed sailors, and survivors of addiction, PTSD, and crime.
Many of those articles were for corporate magazines, for which I've won national and regional awards from the International Association of Business Communicators. I've handled corporate and executive communications at several companies, writing speeches, CEO messages, annual reports, feature articles, website copy, and blogs.
Along the way, I've become skilled at humanizing complex topics with clear and compelling prose. I'm now focused on knocking out high-quality freelance writing assignments for newspapers, magazines, and corporations.
